WELCOME! If you've gotten this far I'm going to assume you have at least a mild curiosity about my work. That makes me happy so, again, WELCOME!
Now let me tell you a little about what you'll find once you start clicking the tabs. Or, rather, let me tell you what you won't find, which is, much of anything with substance or socially redeeming moral value. Not that there's anything immoral, mind you - pretty tame stuff actually, but no preaching and hardly any useful information. However, I like to think I do occasionally stumble across an interesting insight into human nature.
You should also know that I write from the perspective of a female baby boomer because, oddly enough, that's what I am. Which is not to say my writing covers topics which interest only fellow female boomers. Not so - much of it crosses gender and age barriers, and some of it leaves readers puzzled and scratching their heads without regard to age or sex.
Now you may well ask, with two wars raging, nuclear proliferation, double-digit unemployment and melting icecaps, why should I waste my precious time with stuff and nonsense? Good question. Maybe if I explain to you a little about my life philosophy you'll be able to justify this little frolic and detour away from reality. You see, until recently I would probably have subscribed to the philosophy that life's challenges should be faced head-on, with unflinching determination. But the weight of the world has gotten to be a bit much for me, so these days I'm definitely favoring flinching, as well as any available form of ducking, cowering and cringing. (I would also recommend the approach adopted by wild horses who, when experiencing a violent storm, instinctively huddle together with their rear ends turned to face the storm and their tails tucked firmly between their legs, aka "Butts to the wind!")
Writing and illustrating humorous essays and books has served me well in my own effort to distract and amuse myself and otherwise avoid reality. I'm hoping they'll do as much for you.
